We all made it safely home. Thank you so much for your love and support. We have loved sharing this experience with you. It was just a glimpse, but we hope you felt the joy in our hearts. Any of us would love to talk about the trip in more detail and show the hundreds of pictures we took. If you want to know more, reach out to any of us. We want to first thank God for watching over us and giving us the opportunity to go. I’ve learned from previous years that the timing isn’t always right. We also want to thank Alpine Church for having a heart for mission trips. They donated the money we needed for projects and supported this trip. Last, but not least, we want to thank the people that prayed for us. We felt it!!! He was with us every step of the way. Not only did people pray, but they donated money. We were able to purchase 10 goats and give them to families in the community that need the most help. We also donated money to a feeding center about 20 minutes from UCI. Most of the kids there don’t attend school and several of them struggle to get one meal a day. They go to a local church 3 times a week to worship and learn the bible. We were able to give them enough money to feed these 70 kids 3 times a week for over 4 months. Thank you for making that possible with your generosity.
I’m mentally trying to prepare myself for the chaos of the work week. It’s the hardest part for me, transitioning back home. The busy schedules, email, text, social media, running around, etc. It’s hard to remember why those things are important. They are, I know that, but I crave the simple life where relationships are the most important thing.
We will not forget our Haitian family. Until we see you again, God be with you. Janell
Thank you, Janell, for inviting me and for being our fearless leader! I loved and enjoyed every second of this trip. God Bless You, my friend.
