Guatemala Medical July 20212021-07-20T07:59:39-06:00

It has been over a year since the medical team has been able to visit Guatemala. Because of restrictions in place from the global COVID-19 pandemic, Healing Nations medical teams had to transition care to a telehealth format so that the most urgent patients could still be seen and receive the follow-up care they needed. They are now able to return with a paired down team and clinic to continue ongoing care for the families within the community.

Our second clinic day is in the books! It was full of so many amazing experiences and stories to share. One highlight from my clinic day was a sweet young woman that waited ever-so-patiently outside my room while I was running behind schedule. I looked up and caught her gaze, and could just see it on her face that she was in pain. Once we finally called her name, she sat down and I

Our clinic hit the ground running this morning and we saw 96 patients today! Thanks to our amazing providers, nurses, translators, and many helpers. From Annie: We arrived in Guatemala yesterday afternoon which gave our team an opportunity to set-up the clinic prior to seeing patients, which is a first, and provided the benefit to hit the ground running with patients today.
