Alpine Church is sending a team of 11 to Haiti to continue in their partnership with United Christian’s International. The team will be pouring cement floors, building a home for a family in need, participating in several feeding centers and continuing to build relationships with the local Haitians in the area.

So, today was a day of humility.  After an amazing breakfast prepared by the best cooks in all of Haiti, we went to a house that was getting a new floor with our donated funds.  The house was modest, 4 rooms.  It was decorated so nice.  The family was there moving what little furniture they had outside.  You could see they took pride in their home.  We all helped hauling sand & carrying buckets of cement into the

Have you ever landed a plane in a field?

We made it to United Christians International (UCI), our destination.  We spent most of the day traveling.  The highlight, which I thought would be the terror, of the day was taking a prop plane with MFI and land in a field near where we are staying.  I’ve been dreading this for a month.  The good news is it was so great.  I think we all agreed it was awesome.  So smooth, landing was perfect,

Getting Ready and Excited. . .

It's been an eventful week getting ready to go, to say the least, but as I sit here, the night before our flight, it's becoming real.  We've had sickness bad enough to stop someone from going, last minute cancellations and added new people.  Mike was one of the casualties, so we will certainly miss him, but I'm sure our dogs will be happy to have him home.  I'm not sure who I will see
