In February we realized the dream of many years of prayer, planning, fundraising & logistics: the completion of our own facility for medical clinics, ministry training, and team housing in Guatemala. Something that started as a simple question from a Pastor many years ago (“Have you ever thought about doing medical work here?”) resulted in the creation of a new division within Healing Nations, and now has resulted in a permanent place where people will come to find physical AND spiritual healing for many years to come, through medical, dental, optometry, physical therapy, counseling, prayer and evangelism.

We can’t thank all the people who have contributed to this vision enough for participating with us in seeing a vision become reality to the glory of God. We’re also running Compassion Teams in Guatemala utilizing our new space, working with a variety of partners doing things in the community of Santo Tomas and beyond.

We are overjoyed to share that our medical ministry center construction is finally complete, and the long-awaited clinic has officially opened its doors to the community! What began as a dream and vision by God, is now a beautiful reality. This clinic stands as a beacon of hope, designed to provide excellent, safe, and compassionate health care and spiritual care. Every detail has been crafted with love, prayer, and a commitment to serve “the least of these” in the spirit of Christ.

The opening ceremony was filled with JOY! It was a beautiful celebration of remembrance of all that God has done and will be faithful to do. Corey Duncan led us through God’s word by “Remembering the Works of His Hands.” He took us on a journey of God’s provision, calling, and partnership and how God brought all of this together for His glory. We spent time worshipping and sang the powerful words of “The Goodness of God,” and “Worthy of it All.” I had the privilege to thank God and give Him all the glory for making this dream come to reality through His provision of co-laborers, givers, cheerleaders, and prayer warriors! We dedicated each clinic room and our courtyard to the Lord, to be used for His glory to proclaim His great love to the nation of Guatemala! The day was full of sunshine and the birds were joyfully chirping! We held a celebration reception on the rooftop terrace, just soaking in the beauty of Guatemala. As we cut the ribbon and opened the doors, we were acutely aware that we were standing on holy ground. It was the perfect day in every way…one I will remember for the rest of my life.

The impact of this clinic is great! The love of Christ is being tangibly expressed by bringing health to the sick, comfort to the suffering, and dignity to those often forgotten. This medical ministry center is more than just a building; it is a testament to God’s faithfulness and love. From the moment our patients walk through the doors, individuals and families are met with excellent care and the assurance that they are seen and cared for by God, greatly valued, and not alone. Thank you for walking with us on this journey! Your prayers, gifts, and encouragement have made this ministry possible. Your support has not only fulfilled a lifelong dream of mine, but more importantly, it has opened a permanent door for hope, healing, and wholeness. To God be the glory!
