UNITED CHRISTIANS INTERNATIONAL

United Christians International (UCI) began in 2005 with JeanJean and Kristie Mompremier’s desire to teach Haitian communities the Word of God. From this simple desire, God has turned a small village that predominantly practiced vodou into a community that loves Jesus and is advancing His Kingdom in the country of Haiti. UCI is a holistic ministry that is impacting Haiti through agriculture, evangelism, church planting, education, health care, and other compassion ministries.
What began as a 3-month stay back in 2005, has now grown into 9 nutrition centers, a health clinic, elementary and secondary schools, a university with a seminary and degrees in medicine, biomedicine, nursing, agronomy, and elementary education. UCI continues to grow, meeting the needs of the community, while touching the lives of Haitians through sharing, studying, and living out the Gospel. From these small beginnings, the Gospel has turned a small village that was marked by vodou and hatred, into a community that works together for the sake of the Gospel.
Today, UCI has a Christian preschool, elementary, and secondary schools with over 1,800 students and over 1,200 Christian University students. Their purpose is to build native leaders with valuable skills and knowledge who can tell others about Christ. JeanJean and Kristie enjoy visiting churches and telling the story of how an area can be transformed with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

HOW TEAMS CAN HELP

Opportunities to make disciples and grow in your own discipleship to Christ abound at UCI. UCI’s ministry began with a focus on discipleship and they are excited to include teams in these efforts.

Discipleship opportunities include:
– Preaching/teaching
– Prayer ministry
– Children’s ministry
– Evangelism
– Leadership development

Corruption and Vodou are prevalent throughout Haiti. Acts of justice within the community seek to reconcile people to their Creator so that they can flourish as image bearers of God.

Justice opportunities include:
– Praying with families
– Visiting families
– Counseling with families
– English teaching

UCI is located in the rural countryside of northern Haiti where poverty is prevalent and the needs are overwhelming. Mission teams can come alongside UCI and serve the needs of this community through various construction projects or by serving at one of UCI’s 9 community feeding centers.

Mercy opportunities include:
– Construction (home renovations, latrines, roof repair, water wells)
– Feeding the hungry
– Sponsorships
