Pastor Carlos grew up in extreme poverty and abuse and now reaches out to those living in similar circumstances. After successfully rescuing and raising children living at the city dump, he began caring for families with special needs children and feeding the most vulnerable. The ministry is currently helping over 250 children and their families who have special needs, provides food for over 100 feeding centers in northern Nicaragua, and continues their outreach efforts to the kids of Cascabel (the city dump).

Flutemaker Ministries is partnered with Pastor Carlos to network with others to help the kids of Cascabel. Erik & Linda Sampson met Pastor Carlos in 2006 and began Flutemaker Ministries to raise awareness and help fund the work of A Heart to Love.

A Heart to Love continues working with children in Cascabel, helping provide for their needs and hopes to begin reaching out to people in similar situations along the Miskito coast. Their child sponsorship ministries are run through His Hands for Nicaragua and continue to provide care for special needs children.
