It’s time for another Guatemala trip to come to an end. This has been such a great trip full of many experiences. This year’s team, even though it is smaller than past teams, seems to have accomplished much more than construction, a couple festivals, and home visits. We have laughed, cried, shared stories, and grown ever closer to God. Each trip is a new experience for me, I have met so many different people and have created relationships that will last forever.

The way that Jesus works in the lives of each team-member is a beautiful thing to watch. He moves in all of us differently, but together he forces us to grow his kingdom with every step we take. Guatemala is such an easy place to notice God, all you have to do is listen. The Guatemalans that we work with have such a love for people that emulates Jesus in a way that I rarely see anywhere else. I will forever love Guatemala because of the people. You can see their love when we are working at the church making concrete and nobody knows what to do but their patience calms everyone and we still get the job done. You can see their love while the festivals are going on and they calmly help us understand what the kids want. Their love is one that overflows, it acts like a magnet that only wants to draw you in closer.

Guatemala has captured my heart in a way that I have never felt before. I am enamored by all the ways that God works, I only hope that I can share this experience with everyone. It changes lives, It changes hearts, but most importantly it grows community. I will forever love my Guatemala community and I hope that when I return I can show God’s love to everyone I meet the same way our partners here in Guatemala do everyday.
