We arrived in Honduras after a red eye! We took cat naps throughout the night and day. The team is enjoying and getting to know each other. Betsy Hake and her sister Mindy picked us up with some wonderful Honduran men who helped us with our bags and transportation to the school associated with Jericho Ministries. A wonderful cook, Norma provided us with a delicious BBQ chicken, rice and vegetable lunch. We received a tour of the school and were on our way to the Villa where more children are housed and schooled, provided with love and positive influence from Betsy’s staff. High up in the Honduran mountains, near to the Nicaraguan border, lies a chateau type home that houses near to 35 children and adults. We gave introductions in a circle after a tortilla, beans and egg dinner, complete with horchata, a rice and cinnamon sweet drink. The children seemed anxious for our arrival and the hugs goodnight proved a connection was made! We had a quick debrief and off to our places of rest. Up early tomorrow for a devotional time, breakfast and a trip to the dump, where many children and families await encouragement from Jericho ministries. There is a move happening among the inhabitants in and near the dump site…..children are opening up to Jesus as He brings wholeness and healing in the most dire of situations! We can’t wait to report about our connection with the precious people we will meet Saturday! God is so good!”
